Innovative biotechnology firm with an immediate opening for a Senior Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability Engineer to support growth in an entrepreneurial culture. Qualifications needed for success in this role include: Master''s in Science, Engineering, EHS or directly related science. Minimum of 9 years in an EHS role within high-tech, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, chemical or life science industry. Project Management skills including prior experience as an integral part of project team such as new site start ups. Competencies in managing EHS metrics, EHS Management systems and Corporate Social Responsibility. Demonstrated ability to manage environmental programs, water and waste, etc. as well as, oversee third party environmental contractors. Ability to travel up to 10% to provide EHS expertise and support to other locations. Scope of responsibilities for this role include: Supporting business growth through assessing new projects and processes for EHS impact where specific data in unavailable Act as a catalyst and move EHS program implementation and drive continuous improvement and sustainability practices Provide expertise and support to on-board new R&D sites, working with engineering, contractors and stakeholders Oversees wastewater discharge control and air quality program and hazardous waste management Develop engineering and work practice controls for hazardous energy, high potent compounds, flammables and contractor safety protocols Conduct audits and inspections, incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
