Job Description:JOB OVERVIEW: Valiant Integrated Services is seeking a Floor Technician with previous work experience in facilities maintenance and operations supporting military installations to support our operations and maintenance requirements at the National Museum of the Marine Corp, Quantico, VA. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: The Floor Technician position serves as the subject matter expert on caring for flooring and walking surfaces. Monitors and tracks the floor cleaning schedule and coordinates with the Sr. Lead Custodian and Site Manager for all after hour's floor maintenance projects. Uses cleaning equipment, including automatic floor machines, commercial vacuums, carpet shampooers, carpet extractors, wet mops, large wringers and other necessary equipment, tools, chemicals and supplies. Will dry and wet mop floors, scrub and buff floors with rotor and other machines, assist in stripping and waxing projects, and vacuum carpets to clean and control bacteria. Moves furniture as needed to perform floor maintenance. Maintains assigned equipment for cleanliness and requests repairs when needed. Reports need for repairs to building equipment, furniture, and fixtures to the Sr. Lead Custodian. Provides direction and training for custodial staff on floor maintenance as well as participates in the movement of floor maintenance equipment to and from storage areas to buildings, posting advance notice flyers in areas to receive special floor maintenance, posting warning tape and other signage in areas where floor maintenance is being conducted in order to control pedestrian traffic and avoid damage to floor areas during maintenance and drying periods. Works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Responsible for reporting any un-safe/hazardous situations related to any Sunik/Valiant work being performed.
