This Direct-Hire position is in the Food and Drug Administration and is located in the Office of the Commissioner ; Office of External Affairs; Administrative Management Staff in Silver Spring, MD which provides administrative and program support for one or more internal operations, including budget and financial management, human resources and administrative management, performance management, procurement, and related projects.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an expert analyst responsible for maintaining information on new/current programs involving or affecting the Center/Office.
  • Perform administrative operation functions of the organization (Such as travel, human resources, record management, contracting and/or budget).
  • Develop correspondence on behalf of senior managers.
  • Serve as the point of contact between leadership and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Respond to queries, troubleshooting and providing solutions to overcome barriers that regularly involve critical, sensitive, and/or controversial issues.
  • Formulate and provide efficient ways to improve the organization?s planning and operations, helping leaders be more effective in their roles.
  • Plan, develop and execute very complex administrative and management projects in order to modify or improve the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations.
  • Utilize expert skills in studying work methods, administrative guidelines, procedures and utilization projects.
  • Manage lists and document libraries in Microsoft SharePoint.
  • Utilize various software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software to prepare comprehensive reports and/or special projects.

Qualifications

The position of Management Analyst falls under the 0343 occupational series. To qualify for this position at grade GS-13, you must meet the following:

Specialized Experience
. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.

You must possess Have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal or public and private sectors, to include: Experience performing administrative operation functions of the organization (such as travel, human resources, record management, contracting, and/or budget); utilizing qualitative methods sufficient to solve problems and challenges; skills in the application of fact-finding and investigative techniques; conveying policy and concepts to varied levels of personnel with clarity, logic, and conciseness; and developing and applying new approaches for conducting complex, comprehensive studies which deal with major issues affecting the workforce.
