Summary

You will serve as a EDUCATION TECHNICIAN (AUDIOVISUAL/LABORATORY/OA) in the in the Center for Multidisciplinary Educational Support Services (MDL), Office of the Deputy Vice President, Chief Information Officer of UNIF SRVS UNI OF THE HLTH SCI.

Responsibilities

  • You will work with professional faculty and technical staffs to schedule, train for, and produce a variety of lectures, courses, seminars, conferences, and laboratory exercises.
  • You will be responsible for the maintenance of electronic teaching and conferencing equipment, and to train others in its proper use.
  • You will be responsible for reporting, recording, tracking, prioritizing and resolving technical issues in the MDL facility.
  • You will perform basic desktop maintenance and support for microcomputer/personal computer on windows and /or Apple-Macintosh platforms, troubleshooting, and software applications.
  • You will conduct property inventory of multiple complex electronic equipment as requested and assuring accountability of MDL equipment and supplies.
  • You will provide technical and logistical support for video teleconferencing and distance learning programs, including the establishment of telecommunication links prior to broadcasts.
  • You will be working in a Anatomical Teaching Laboratory (ATL) and must be able to handle the psychological effects of working with human cadavers and specimens. Assists in the movement of cadavers.

  • Work requires prolonged periods of standing, bending, stooping, and carrying objects of moderate weight (100 lbs).


Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing audio visual support duties for lectures, seminars, or laboratory exercises; and using computer software to update lectures or presentations for education or training activities.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: assisting with performing audio visual support duties for lectures or laboratory exercises; and using computer software to update lectures or presentations for education or training activities.

This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
