Cloud Engineer Primary Location: USA Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland Clearance Level: Secret Schedule: Full-time Job Type: Regular Travel: Possibly Responsibilities and Deliverables: Manage and configure virtualized environments, including VM deployment, VM storage, VM networking and general VM troubleshooting. Install and configure servers. Configure and manage system services to include DNS, DHCP, IIS, AD DS and Group Policy. Check and maintain systems to include patch management, application updates, replication, local storage, and web server functionality. Manage and troubleshoot Active Directory. This includes account creation, disabling of accounts upon employee exit, group membership and AD replication. Maintain required IA baseline and computing environment (CE) certifications in compliance with DoD 8750 IAT Level II. Oversee service requests, incidents, and escalation of problems. Manage and coordinate urgent and complicated support issues. Act as an escalation point for all requests and incidents. Develop and mature phone/ticket escalation processes to ensure free flowing escalation and information within the organization. Determine root cause of issues and communicate appropriately to internal and external customers. Oversee Solutions repository and ensure top quality solutions are available to the staff. Develop an effective and workable framework for managing and improving customer IT support in the organization. Advise management on situations that may require additional client support or escalation. Manage process for communicating outage/emergency activities to the organization. Install, configure, automate, and monitor variouscloudservices. Maintain and manage a repository of scripts to be used by the AWSEngineering team. Work closely with a team of architects,engineers, and developers to create functional design specifications, AWS reference architectures, and assist with other project deliverables as needed. Design state-of-the-art technical solutions on AWS that address customer's requirements for scalability, reliability, security, and performance. Perform other duties or responsibilities as needed or assigned. Required Qualifications: 5-10 years of experience in a consulting/architecture position with a software and/or services company. Strong technical expertise in GCP IaaS - Governance, Network, Security, Identity, Compute, Storage, Backup & DR, Monitoring and Automation. Understanding of PaaS and DevOps solutions is a must. Hands-on experience in POC and production deployments is required in Cloud GCP. Knowledge of scripting tools like PowerShell, Terraform CLI is needed. Proven track record of building deep technical relationships with senior IT executives and growing data services in large or highly strategic accounts. Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly. Proven track record of driving decisions collaboratively. Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort with both large and small audiences (Senior Executives, IT management, and developers). Education and Certifications: Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science or related STEM field. GCP certification preferred. Active Secret Clearance. Candidates must have or be able to obtain and keep a Secret Clearance.
