The Institute for Educational Leaderships (IEL) mission is to partner with under-resourced communities to equip leaders to better prepare children, youth, adults, and families for postsecondary education and training, rewarding careers, and civic and community engagement. In recognition of the need for substantial improvements in workforce preparation systems in this country, IEL established the Center for Workforce Development in 1991. CWD focuses on helping leaders in both the public and private sectors build bridges that connect individuals with and without disabilities in transition from school to postsecondary education and work. Our focus is on the linkages between the individual, school or training institutions, and the workplace to promote leadership of youth and adults with disabilities in the nations diverse workforce.Some of our recent work has included the creation and operation of the National Collaborative on Workforce and Disability for Youth (NCWD/Youth); development and operation of the youth-led National Consortium on Leadership and Disability for Youth (NCLD/Youth); implementation of the District of Columbia Advocacy Partners program; leadership of the Vocational Rehabilitation Youth Technical Assistance Center (Y-TAC); and creation and management of the Ready to Achieve Mentoring Program (RAMP) and the Right Turn projects.Overview: The Program Associate provides ongoing administrative and logistic support for the staff and initiatives of the Center. Specifically, this position will support the program managers for RAMP and Right Turn.Core Responsibilities: Provide administrative and logistical assistance to support both program managers (RAMP and Right Turn)Help maintain routine communications with project sites, partners, and other stakeholdersManage financial processes, including bi-weekly preparation of vouchers and basic tracking of expenditures and payments (ie meeting invoices, site visits and other project related invoices) to ensure timely and accurate paymentWrite, edit, and produce a variety of project materials as well as IEL products as directed (eg, conference programs, correspondence, program handbooks, quarterly reports, project guidelines, policies, proposals, newsletters, etc.)Assist with planning and organization of annual all-site conferences, site visits, webinars, and meetingsMonitor and help to maintain project material on the IEL websiteProvide training materials and technical assistance to program and sites on data collection methods and reportingPerform data collection, input, analysis and reporting in support of monitoring sites progress toward performance measuresCoordinate the dissemination of project publications and products, using the IEL family of websitesManage communication platform and direct mailing strategies in support of project and sitesRepresent projects at select meetings and conferencesServe on IEL-wide ad hoc committees and planning groupsPerform other duties as assigned.
