As an entry-level technology professional, the Associate Security Engineer will assist with the completion of technology organization programs, projects and / or objectives as a part of larger effort while learning their assigned roles, attaining new skills, and working with direct supervision.Essential Job Functions:Participate in systems operations or engineering task completion in support of a program, project or objective under direct guidance.Develop understanding of FINRA technology approaches and methods.Start developing competency in at least one core systems operations or engineering competency.Report status updates and any issues on a regular basis.Assist with adherence to technology policies and comply with all security controls.Ensure all work products meets /exceeds FINRA standardsOther Responsibilities:Perform other duties, as assigned.Education/Experience Requirements:Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline with at least one (1) year of related experience, or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline with no related experience, or equivalent training and/or work experience.Knowledge of Cyber Security concept like attacks, attack types, vulnerabilities, mitigation techniques.Knowledge of operating systems like Linux, Windows, and macOS.Knowledge of SIEM like Splunk, cloud like AWS, AZURE.Working knowledge of scripting in Unix/Windows environment: Bash, Perl, Python, VBScript.Strong knowledge of network protocols as well as network connectivity troubleshooting.Security, AWS and Splunk certifications are a plus, but not a requirement.To be considered for this position, please submit an application.
