Description Job Description: The Government health and Safety Operation is currently seeking a DevOps Engineer. Technical Responsibilities: Monitoring and analysis of enterprise assets including server and network devices. Participate in shift work and handover briefings. Participate in resolution, and escalation, of incident, service request, and change request tickets. Monitor systems for anomalies and investigate impact related patterns of usage Provide reporting inputs on systems resources in all operational areas. Produce and maintain detailed operational documentation for the Enterprise Operations Center. Develop expertise, conduct training, and mentor teammates. Provide intensive monitoring and synthesize outputs to develop reporting to support automation, redundancy, and efficiency. General understanding of TCP/IP and related protocols such as HTTP, ssh, and NFS General understanding of authentication systems Good Excellent writing and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage conflict effectively. Ability to adapt and be productive in a dynamic environment. Strong communication and collaboration skills supporting multiple stakeholders and business operations. Support enterprise hosting technologies to include Vmware and public cloud AWS. Respond quickly and collaborate with team for all operational issues. Quickly adapt, maintain and support as well as train operational staff on new engineering technologies emerging from Cloud Engineering team. Collaborate in weekly meetings with ISD team, take action and provide status updates on ongoing operational projects. Resolve highly complex problems using significant application of technical knowledge, conceptualizing, reasoning and interpretation. Required Skills: Experience with VMware technologies: Vsphere and Vcenter. Experience supporting highly available Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure based on industry best practices and the AWS well architected framework. Experience migrating systems from legacy platforms ie Solaris to Red hat Linux. Experience working with AWS programmatically via the CLI, Tools, or SDK. Experience maintaining Disaster Recovery infrastructure to include Cloud based workloads. Strong experience with Hyper-Converged Technologies Experience with configuration management of Cloud based resources. Knowledge of Jenkins, Github and other agile tools. Solid understanding of standard client/server, networking, TCP/IP, and internet fundamentals. Ability to write script in an Administrative Language (PowerShell, Python, Ruby, or Shell). Ability to work and manage project independently. Ability to train other staff members on latest technologies. Good Excellent writing and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage conflict effectively. Ability to adapt and be productive in a dynamic environment. Strong communication and collaboration skills supporting multiple stakeholders and business operations. Self-starter, self-managed, and a team player. Ability to train other team members. Recommended Skills: Agile-based knowledge and skill. Required Education Bachelor s degree in a technical field such as computer science or equivalent. Experience may be substituted in lieu of degree. 8-12 years of prior relevant experience Recommended Education RHEL Certification Vmware certification AWS Solutions Architect Certification Required Clearance Ability to obtain a Public trust clearance All candidates supporting the CMS programs must have lived in the United States at least three (3) out of the last five (5) years prior in order to be considered.
