In collaboration with thepatient, the patients family, and other members of the health care team, the Flex Pool Registered Nurse isresponsible for assessing, evaluating, planning, implementing, and coordinatinga treatment plan and achieving the goals of the Med Surg and/or ICU nursingdepartments. You serve as a key position of the assigned team and will holdresponsibility for achieving positive patient and departmental outcomes. Based on the area you float to:You willmaintain overall accountability/responsibility for assigned patientsYou will understandpatients with critical illness and vent management if in the ICU. You will havethe ability to respond to Code Blue within the facility and initiate protocol,special procedures and cardiac monitoringYou will manageefficient flow of patients including screening, preparation for exam, providinggeneral nursing care, and arranging or testing and admissionsYou will instructpatients and families regarding medications and treatment instructionsYou will maintain andreview patients records including posting tests and examination resultsYou will administermedications in accordance with physician ordersYou will check roomsdaily for necessary suppliesYou will respond to andrefer incoming telephone calls (may include phone triage when needed)Qualifications Must be a graduate froman accredited school of Nursing: Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher isrequiredMust be licensed as aRegistered Nurse in the state which you practice and/or hold an activeCompact/Multi-State RN licenseA current AmericanHeart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) HealthCare Provider is requiredMust have at least: two(2) year fulltime equivalent Acute Care RN experience in designated area - Lessthan 2 years of experience requires approval by the CNO In 2018, Memorial HealthUniversity Medical Center became affiliated with HCA Healthcare (SouthAtlantic Division), one of the nations leading providers of healthcareservices.
