Third Party Online Billing Specialist

The George Mason University Student Fiscal Services Office invites applicants for a Third Party Online Billing Specialist position. Student Fiscal Services is one of several units under the authority of Fiscal Services and reports to the University Controller. The Third Party Online Billing Specialist will report directly to the Assistant Director, Third Party Billing Office.

Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Processing special online billing in agencies' specific online invoice portals including but not limited to Chapter 31 Voc Rehab, GoArmyEd, WAWF, GMU ROTC, Marine Corps, AI Portal tuition assistance, MyCAA and Virginia Prepaid Education 529 plans; * Authorizing or posting payments on accounts; * Preparing individualized statements and other student documentation requests; * Cross-Training on invoice processing for students receiving Post 9/11 GI Bill Benefits, 702 Choice Act and Yellow Ribbon benefits; * Providing technical support within the Third Party Billing office in developing various workbooks, contracts and exemptions; * Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: * Customer service experience and strong social skills, especially in dealing with assertive clientele and sensitive matters; * Knowledge and experience with MS-Excel and Microsoft Office software; * Ability to analyze accounts and perform account reconciliation; * Excellent oral and written skills; * Demonstrated ability to process work during periods of high demand; * Associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Qualifications: * Experience with maintaining and using student financial data and reporting systems; * Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities; * Demonstrated mathematical reasoning, computer knowledge, and general office experience; * Experience with and knowledge of military regulations, military educational programs, and benefits available to veterans and their dependents.
