Summary

This position is located in the Management Directorate at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP).The Senior Advisor serves the Director and Deputy Directors providing a variety of representational and advisory services essential to the successful operational move from the DC facility to the replacement facility in Beltsville Maryland.

Responsibilities

As a SENIOR ADVISOR you will:
  • Define, establish and direct organizational focus on challenging and highly complex programs that cross organizational boundaries and promulgates solutions.
  • Serve as BEP senior planner, embedded in the Management Directorate, responsible for pre-planning, relocation execution and post organizational coordination of BEP administrative support across the entire BEP staff
  • Work with Senior Executives and other senior management officials within the Bureau to ensure success of BEP mission relocation goals and objectives.
  • Ensure that Deputy Directors, Associate Directors and Office Chiefs have the required conditions to meet their organizational relocation goals and objectives.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with appropriate senior BEP staff, Treasury, FRB and officials and members of internal and external organizations.

SUITABILITY, CLEARANCE & REQUIREMENTS: A background investigation will be required for all new hires. Appointment will be subject to the applicant's successful completion of a background investigation and favorable adjudication. Failure to successfully meet these requirements will be grounds for disqualification in the hiring process. The background investigation process conducted by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing is very thorough. Therefore it is imperative that applicants exercise candor and honesty when answering background questionnaires, especially as it relates to arrest, employment, education, finances, illegal drug use, and/or other criminal history. Falsification discovered in security documents or during the background investigation process may result in an immediate negative suitability determination or immediate revocation of your interim clearance (if applicable).

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized experience: For the GS-15, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
  • Experience directing long-range planning, projects, and program analyses that address broad organizational issues that significantly impact key agency strategic objectives and operations.; AND
  • Experience serving as an authoritative resource in project management, execution; AND
  • Experience serving as the Liaison, responsible for developing and executing an agency's strategies to ensure that information, strategic context, and policies are readily available to interested stakeholders.

In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-15, you must have been at the GS-14 level for 52 weeks.

- The facility typically shuts down annually between Christmas and New Year's Day. As such, all BEP employees must take leave for work days during the shutdown period.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Public Trust - Background Investigation will be required.
- Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.

- Obtain and use a Government-issued charge card for business-related travel.
- Wear required safety clothing and/or equipment required by the position. This may include safety shoes, hard hats, hearing protection, gloves, masks, etc.
- Weekend work and overtime, if applicable, will be scheduled when needed based on production requirements as determined by Management.
