Network Engineer Location:Reston VA Duration: 6 Month Contract to Hire COMPENSATION EXTREMELY COMPETITIVE US Citizenship REQUIRED It does not help to apply without citizenship. Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture. Provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Conducts testing of network design. Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing. Also involved with installation, maintenance, advance troubleshooting and administration of existing network systems. Work with end-users and responds to user inquiries. Modifies configurations and standard templates. Participates in major network installations and upgrades. Trouble shoot complex network problems. Interfaces with vendors to ensure appropriated resolution during network outages or periods of reduced performance. Presents recommendations of network interfaces and configurations. Job Requirements: Skills Required 1. Proficient in supporting Cisco Switching , routing and wireless environments. 2. Must have solid understanding of physical layer infrastructure 3. Good communications skills and ability to work with "technical smarthands" over phone 4.Proficent user of Windows and Microsoft Office Suite (ie Excel) 5. Work independently while practicing defined processes. Skills Preferred 1. Knowledge of Cisco PRIME Management Systems 2. Knowledge of Cisco ISE and Network Access Control (NAC) networks 3. Good understanding of Remedy Ticketing System 4. Familiar with other network tools such as NetBrain and/or Infoblox DHCP/DNS 5. Cisco CCNP certification in switching and/or wireless networks Education Required: Bachelor's Degree and 5-10 years of work experience or equivalent experience supporting Cisco networks. Cisco CCNA Certification Required. NOTE: AGAIN - MUST BE US CITIZEN to be eligible for this position. There is no relocation or expense package offered for this position.
