Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing advice and/or instruction on training; performing staff assistance visits and inspections to ensure units are fully informed of and comply with directives and procedures; reviewing training plans, reports and regulations to determine training needs; maintaining training records; and organizing and coordinating training requirements utilizing automated training systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Organizational Management and Leadership, Public Administration, Business Administration, or Management. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Responsibilities
- Develop Training plans and schedules.
- Inspects training schedules and objectives.
- Establishes security procedures.
- Monitors funds for the command.
- Developing, implementing, and appraising plans and schedules for the Division Training Program.
- Analyzing regulations, tactical doctrine, field manuals, and issuances pertaining to training objectives and determining training needs of the Division.
- Evaluating training operations through inspections or reviews of reports and issuing directives to effect improvement.
- Reviewing plans and evaluating training of subordinate elements.
- Advising the Division on training matters.
- Establishing and recommending priority and commitment of resources projected and available for personnel, equipment, and facilities.
