Summary

This position is located in the Legal Division, Headquarters Corporate Operations Branch, Corporate and legal Operations Section, Legal Information Technology Unit, Operations Group, of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides comprehensive cost effective information technology services for the Legal Division.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and maintains Legal Division web based applications, including internal and external websites, and document management platforms such as SharePoint. Participates in FDIC's internal and public Web site reviews, redesigns, and usability and acceptance testing ensuring Section 508 compliance standards.
  • Monitors Legal Division IT System and websites for functionality, security, and integrity; troubleshoots problems; and collects and analyzes usage and performance statistics.
  • Plans, designs, develops, tests, evaluates and manages the implementation and maintenance of internal and external Web sites and SharePoint Site Collections.
  • Administers SharePoint Sites. Controls the organization of sites, defines permission levels, grants and removes access, manages content and folders, and monitors site usage for inappropriate or obsolete content.
  • Provides internal IT project management for the Legal Division and applies information security/assurance policies, principles and practices in the delivery and usage of applications systems and Internet services.
  • Supports internal customers in planning for the installation and implementation of new systems; e.g., design and upgrade to new IT systems and leads efforts to define post-implementation support requirements.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 12 grade level or above in the Federal service.

Specialized experience is defined as experience maintaining internal and external websites with content management tools such as Adobe AEM/CQ, Author Web and Dreamweaver; development and presentation of data using analytical tools such as Tableau; and SharePoint Administration and Development using tools such as SharePoint Designer.

In addition to meeting the specialized experience, applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating proficiency in each of the four competencies listed below.

• Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.

If you are found qualified, you will be placed in one of three categories: Best Qualified, Highly Qualified, or Qualified. Within these categories, candidates eligible for veterans' preference will receive selection priority over non-veterans.

  • Skill in internet design principles and methods, programing languages and tools, and file formats used to deliver web content.
  • Knowledge of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and assistive technologies, such as voice recognition/screen readers and compliance software to test sites for 508 compliance.
  • Skill in administering and maintaining SharePoint site collections for document management and collaboration; including skill with the workflow and site customization in SharePoint Designer, access control, document management best practices, and security features of Microsoft SharePoint.
  • Skill in using Web authoring and Web content management (WCM) tools, including, but not limited to: DreamWeaver, Adobe AEM/CQ, Adobe Acrobat Pro, AuthorWeb, Tableau, Photoshop, graphics, multimedia, and survey development software for web development. knowledge of CSS, JavaScript, and usability concepts, such as navigational aids, site architecture, knowledge management, and information rendering.
  • Skill in analyzing business processes and defining business requirements for Information Technology projects. Knowledge of the system development life cycle (SDLC) process and practices.
  • Skill in applying Internet Services, project management principles and methods in analyzing business processes and defining business requirements for Information Technology Projects
