About the Position: This position is being filled using the Direct Hiring Authority (DHA) for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce. Based on the provisions outlined in the DHA authority, you will be converted to a new appointment.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as an expert logistics management specialist concerned with directing, developing, and performing logistics management operations
  • Responsible for cradle to grave intensive logistics management to support a complex, major weapons system from concept through field deployment.
  • Manages the processes of planning, directing, managing, monitoring, evaluating and correcting ILS/IPS deficiencies throughout the research, development and acquisition process.
  • Support includes the management and interface with logistics element managers, contract support services, training facilities, Integrated Logistics Support Management organizations.
  • Serves on ILS/IPS management teams. Recommends new logistics support concepts.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: 1)Experience in planning, budgeting, and/or development of product support strategies for materiel acquisition programs using the integrated product support process/elements outlined in such as AR 700-127; 2) Experience in planning and development of product support packages for materiel acquisition programs; and/or 3) Developing and authoring logistics products/documents including the lifecycle sustainment plan that document the sustainment strategy for materiel acquisition programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service NH-02.
