Position Splunk Engineer Location Tysons, VA Duration 12 Months Description bull Monitoring, alerting framework, reporting (eg, availability, reliability, and management bull KPIs), application logs (eg, text, XML, and JSON format), IISApache logs, Windows bull Linux event logs, system logs, and database logs. bull Performance lead should demonstrate the experience in architecting, maintaining, and upgrading of Splunk Core, IT Service Intelligence (ITSI), DB Connect, Web site monitoring, User Analytics, and the Machine Learning Tool Kit (MLTK) applications in a medium-to-large environment. bull Provides support in project design, development, and deployment activities. bull Troubleshoot and optimize all aspects of applications by utilizing the data from Splunk, including the Splunk search head, indexer clusters, index storage monitoring, and Splunk Processing Language (SPL) performance tuning. bull Help manage upgrades, migrations, security, system health, and infrastructure analytics. bull Develop Splunk dashboards and reports for strategic projects. bull Work with other Splunk Administrators and Architects to support the Splunk environment. bull Maintain and implement enterprise monitoring and alerting utilizing Splunk and organizationally defined best practices. bull Assist in the creation and maintenance of Splunk knowledge objects for use throughout the organization. bull Assist multi-vendor performance engineering and development teams to identify and troubleshoot performance issues. bull Assist data analytics team to perform predictive analytics using Splunk Machine Learning Toolkits. bull Able to lead a small group of developers and provide assistance with management reporting. Splunk Administration is an added advantage, working knowledge of JIRA, Bit bucket, Relational databases are preferred. Basic Qualification bull Must have over five years of hands-on working experience in areas such as Splunk Service decomposition, dash-boarding, reporting, creation of glass tables, and developing custom technology add-ons (TAs). bull Able to work in a fast-paced multi-vendor environment must demonstrate bull excellent oral and written communication skills.
