As part of a large Engineering Support Services (ESS) Team, the candidate will provide systems engineering and acquisition support to ensure that the AEGIS Weapon System (Baseline 9G) onboard USCG ships (eg, Offshore Patrol Cutter (OPC)) is properly integrated and is ready to support all USCG missions. This role is sitting in Washington DC A' Job Description: The AEGIS portfolio is rapidly growing within US Coast Guard ships.A' A' The management of this integration of USN AEGIS Weapons System on USCG ships is provided by the Navy's Program Executive Office Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS 1.0), specifically the PEO IWS 1.0 Principal Assistant Program Manager (PAPM) for USCG AEGIS integration (PEO IWS 1CT) and his AEGIS Baseline Assistant Program Manager (APM).A' This activity of integrating Navy Weapons Systems is known as Navy Type/Navy Owned (NT/NO) and it includes working with activities throughout the USN and USCG acquisition organizations.A' The candidate will provide direct support to this PAPM and APM within DoD's Integrated Product Team structure, work with various activities to plan and execute combat systems integration, testing (DT and OT), ship integration, certification, fielding and sustainment.A' The candidate will monitor the progress of interface development between the AEGIS Weapon Systems and other USN and USCG elements.A' The individual will, with the support of the ESS and government staffs, develop and assist the MPM in developing and presenting briefs and papers.A' A' There is the potential for expansion to other USCG platforms and AEGIS baselines in the future.A' A' AdditionalA' Description: A' Keep abreast of fleet activities, technology developments, modernization activities, deployments, and fleet problems Work with other commands to ensure all DOTMLPF areas support fleet readiness Draft key briefs and papers Help manage finances, including Task Planning sheets and planning for POM 23 and BAM 23 Help drafting contracts for AEGIS integration work and managing contract performance. Interface with other systems engineering disciplines to align activities and requirements Represent PEO IWS 1CT PAPM at meetings Make presentations to various levels of USCG and USN leadership Manage design changes and cascading effects these design changes Facilitate the OPC Government Furnished Material (GFM) summit meeting Qualifications Education and Experience: Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience 4 years of additional experience will be accepted in lieu of degree. A' Required Skills:A' The candidate must be a team player capable of executing independent work who pays attention to detail.A' Effective communication and interpersonal skills are vital.A' A' Acquisition and/or Systems engineering experience supporting a USN or USCG shipbuilding or weapons systems program office.A' Ability to multi-task and work in a face paced environment and know where to go to get answers to technical questions.A' A' Must be able to effectively communicate with high-level Military, Government, and Contractor personnel.A' Solid MS Word and PowerPoint skills.A' Ability to see a problem and identify solutions.A' Capable of completing tasks on time and communicating status.A' Secret clearance. A' Clearance: Must be a US Citizen with an Active Secret Clearance. A' Desired Skills: AEGIS Combat Systems engineering, acquisition, systems engineering or maintenance experience is very strongly desired.A' Ability to know where to go to get answers to AEGIS technical questions (eg, contacts with and/or experience working with activities such as NSWC DD, LMCO, NSWC PHD, SSCS WI, CDSA Dam Neck, APL/JHU). The ideal dream candidate will have served as an AEGIS BL 9 CSSM at sea and will have supported engineering, acquisition or support activities at a Program Office, OEM, LBTS or a field activity.A' A' USCG experience of any kind is a bonus.A' Knowledge of broad principles of Systems Engineering and knowledge in support of System operations and Ship/System capabilities.A' Fleet operational Combat Systems experience, preferably along the lines of a Tactical Action Officer, Combat Systems Officer, Systems Test Officer, or Combat Systems Maintenance Manager.A' A' A' A' DAWIA certification.A' Knowledge of the USN Combat Systems certification processes.A' A' Travel: Travel will be required to Moorestown, NJ (every other month), Panama City, FL (every 4 to 6 months), and Dahlgren, VA (as needed) SAIC is a premier technology integrator solving our nation's modernization and readiness challenges.
