As a Laboratory Technician you will:
• Provide technical support for the Pathology Department at CCPLab.
• Work within the pathology laboratory; slide distribution (primary duty); operation and maintenance of tissue processors; preparation and staining of specimens.
• Demonstrate the ability to work closely interdepartmentally with professional and clinical staff solving specimen handling issues, including incorrectly submitted specimens with emphasis on minimizing risk to patients.
• Demonstrate ability and proficiency to monitor and document instrumentation quality assurance records and participate in improvement initiatives.
• Comprehend instrumentation variances on daily basis, troubleshoot equipment and other quality issues when appropriate.
• Work independently, demonstrate problem solving abilities, and seek out and perform additional duties/tasks.
• Use LIS system with high level of precision, i.e., Cerner, Copath, Word, Excel and other customized programs.
• Assist with compliance of all professional federal, state, and CAP requirements including all chemical waste management, safety and infection control policies.

Qualified candidates will possess:
• High School Diploma required
• Laboratory experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail

Work Schedule:

Full-time 8 hour shifts. Work Schedule is Monday - Friday 4am - 12:30pm

• Associates are exposed to laboratory environment that include exposure to chemicals, infectious materials and biohazards.
• Organizational and cleanliness skills are required to maintain patient specimen integrity.
• Lab Techs will demonstrate compassion during interactions with patients, physicians, co-workers, and other staff.
