Responsibilities

As a National Bank Examiner/Bank Examiner (Commercial Credit ), you will:
  • Serve as Examiner-in-Charge (EIC) of commercial credit examinations of complex community, midsize banks and assist in the ongoing supervision of commercial credit activities.
  • Plan, organize, and control commercial credit supervisory activities in complex midsize banks.
  • Review and discuss findings, conclusions, and areas of concern with Board of Directors, committees of the board, or senior bank management in coordination with EIC.
  • Develop others through mentoring or instructor assignments. Take the initiative in developing other examiners as well as participating in outreach to trade and banking groups. Evaluate the work of assigned staff.
  • Communicate supervisory activity findings, and existing and emerging commercial credit risks orally and in writing to internal and external parties.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 60 calendar days after the closing date of this announcement:

You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the NB-V band level. Examples of specialized experience for this position include:
  • Leading exams or audits of a financial institution's commercial credit risk management systems used to identify and control risks; OR
  • Leading exams or audits of a financial institution applying laws, regulations, and guidance related to commercial lending.

The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or through volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.

  • This is a nontraditional position subject to the Alternative Location Arrangements PPM 3110-53. It may be filled in an
    alternate location within the MBS portfolio which is cost effective, operationally efficient, and complies with the standards
    contained in PPM 3110-53.
