Responsibilities

As a National Bank Examiner/Bank Examiner (Mortgage Banking), you will:
  • Supervise or assist on examinations of mortgage banking operations. Be responsible for planning, coordinating and monitoring of mortgage banking supervisory activities to ensure effective use of resources.
  • Assess risk, develop supervisory strategies, determine the scope of supervisory activities, manage teams of assisting personnel, prepare reports of activities, and develop responses to address risks.
  • Assist in the development of short- and long-term plans; and priorities for the organization. Assist in the development and implementation of plans for meeting program objectives.
  • Conduct or participate in discussions with senior bank management on supervisory findings and recommendations.
  • Serve as an instructor, providing leadership and training to other examiners; and prepare and deliver effective communications with Boards of Directors and senior bank management.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 60 calendar days after the closing date of this announcement:

You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the NB-V band level. Examples of specialized experience for this position include:
  • Leading exams or audits of a financial institution's mortgage banking activities (e.g., loan origination/production; secondary marketing and servicing); OR
  • Leading exams or audits of a financial institution's compliance with mortgage banking related laws, regulations, and guidance.

The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or through volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.

  • This is a nontraditional position subject to the Alternative Location Arrangements PPM 3110-53. It may be filled in an
    alternate location within the MBS portfolio which is cost effective, operationally efficient, and complies with the standards
    contained in PPM 3110-53.
