Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with information security standards and procedures in regards to the DoD Authorization and Accreditation process.
  • You will use knowledge of Information Assurance (IA) and Risk Management Framework (RMF) policy and procedures to implement and maintain internal processes and documentation to maintain a secure and compliant Information Technology (IT) environment.
  • You will ensure that all enclave Information Systems (IS) are functional and secure.
  • You will plan and implement all components of an effective Information Assurance Program for HRO information systems.
  • You will monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the enclaves? IA security procedures and safeguards to ensure they provide the intended level of protection.
  • You will prepare and maintain updates for A and A authorization and accreditation documentation for all completed and in process packages.
  • You will be responsible for the review and implementation of security related procedures and safeguards for DoD IS and IA policies.
  • You will provide a review and recommendation in regards to IT security with new technologies or technology upgrades.
  • You will assess costs, risks and overall impact to IS security based on the new technologies and determines any potential impact to the IS, IA and RMF requirements.
  • You will identify security strategies and selects the best approach or practice for the enclave. Ensures that baseline security safeguards are appropriately installed and being followed.
  • You will assist with evaluation, completion, and submission of A and A packages. Develops, implements, and maintains a secure enclave environment.
  • You will apply information security and RMF principles, policies, and procedures to ensure information systems are secure, reliable and accessible.
  • You will prepare documentation and provide advice and guidance in regards to executing policies and procedures for system security policies and implementation of IT procedures.
  • You will be responsible for enforcing techniques, policies, operational procedures and technologies that secure and defend the availability, integrity, authentication, confidentiality and non-repudiation of information and information systems.
  • You will identify and provide recommendations for best practices for HRO IS users and composes and implements any required SOPs and/or policies.
  • You will assist in the planning and implementation of all IS and network components to ensure an effective and secure enclave while meeting all requirements of the NRL Information Assurance Program.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: (1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail; (2) Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services; (3) Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately; and (4) Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

In addition your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05/10) or pay band (NO-02) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate most or all of the following duties: (1) Implementing and assuring compliance of all information security standards, procedures, processes, systems, and programs; (2) Monitoring and evaluating current technologies and assessing the effectiveness and use and success of security safeguard procedures; (3) Developing, implementing, and maintaining a secure enclave environment; (4) Preparing documentation and providing advice and guidance in regards to executing policies and procedures; (5) Implementing IT procedures, Security Technical Implementation Guides, and other Risk Management Framework (RMF) items associated with the Department of Defense (DoD) Authorization and Accreditation (A&A) process.
