MIL currently holds several multi-year contracts with NAWCAD in the areas of Cyber, C5ISR, and Information Technology systems. Summary The MIL Corporation is looking for a Network Engineering, Senior Analyst that will serve as a Journeyman Communications System Installer to perform logistical planning, layout, and complete installation of new and retrofit communications infrastructure in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes and industry standards for each project. This includes conducting site surveys, pulling cable, terminating and testing both copper and fiber optic cable to the highest level of specifications as well as installing ancillary communications systems such as Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS)s and Power Distribution Units (PDU)s, shelving, media converters etc. In addition to these duties, the Journeyman Communications System Installer will serve in multiple roles as installation team foreperson, quality inspector, trainer and safety lead. The candidate must have extensive experience with the installation, termination and testing of structured cable in commercial and Government environments. The candidate should have knowledge of BICSI guidelines for proper installation and termination procedures. This position requires that you be able to train and oversee less experienced installation personnel in a team environment while facilitating the installation of cabling and IT infrastructure. A focus on safety, quality, production, and schedule is fundamental to all work performed. Responsibilities Interface daily with Government Customers, professionally representing MIL. Interface with Project Managers and function as a site foreperson during site surveys, installations, and maintenance visits. Read and understand engineering plans and specifications. Creating and submitting daily status reports. Surveying IT infrastructure creating rack elevations, cable run sheets, patching, testing fiber and copper. Installation of surface mount raceway systems and cable trays within communications rooms. Installing EMT conduit, pull and junction boxes, surface mount raceways, wall and floor sleeves. Installation of fiber optic cable and termination with mechanical and fusion splicing. Terminating and testing of horizontal and riser copper cabling. Labeling of communications infrastructure including cable, panels, patch cords and electronics. Rack and Stack Installation of panels, enclosures and electronics. Installation of plywood, racks, and cabinets. Installation of grounding and bonding of IT equipment and pathways. Troubleshoot and fix communications cable issues. Testing of copper and fiber cabling with TDRs and Power Meter Tester. Mentor less experienced installation personnel. Function as a site safety lead. Maintain clean work area and participating in job site cleanup. Lead and assist in the packing of tools and materials to be shipped to and returned from job sites. Assist in outside plant (OSP) installations. Required Qualifications 8-10 years prior experience in commercial and Government communications industry. Must have a valid driver's license. Prior experience in communications work including build-out of data centers and other related rooms, Cat6, Cat6A, and fiber optic termination, interpret and maintain (redline) drawing and as-built drawings. Well qualified to test, troubleshoot, and repair copper and fiber optic cabling. Familiarity with Fluke Versiv, TDR/OTDR, and similar tools. Experience using MS Office Word and Excel. Able to lift a maximum of 50 pounds at one time. Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis. Must possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English. Can use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools. Desired Qualifications Top Secret / SCI clearance. BICSI Tech or RCDD Certification. OSP Confined Space Trained. Experience using MS Visio. Experience installing Wireless Networks, Radio Frequency (RF) principles, and Distributed Antennas Systems (DAS). Education Associates or Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline; or equivalent experience/combined education and/or advanced certification Travel Candidates must be willing to travel CONUS and occasionally OCONUS sites up to four weeks at a time.
