PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION: Exelon s Team Digital aims to rapidly deliver reliable and innovative products and services that enable the business and enhance our customer s experience. The Design Manager will build, guide, and mentor a team of UX/UI designers, content strategists, and UX Researchers to collectively craft the digital experiences for the customers and employees of the largest provider of energy in America. The Design Manager will strategically lead our design team in discovering user needs, goals, and requirements for Exelon s digital platform, and translating these into customer journ eys and product backlogs that drive outcomes for our business, while serving the needs of our users . You are a proven strategic thinker, a compelling storyteller, and someone who will flourish within a large organization. PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES: Lead, coach, and engage top design talent to continuously perform and grow. Manage design staffing, allocations, and forecasting in a strategic and thoughtful manner in collaboration with product, platform, and project teams. Cultivate relationships within IT and with business partners at all levels of the organization. Advise teams on design strategy to inform product and platform roadmaps. Advance design processes, cross-functional workflows, and tools to help designers work more efficiently and effectively together and with other disciplines to help take digital solutions from concept to launch . Help advise teams on the best methods for user research and user testing within constraints . Practice change management with team members and business partners. Maintain and pipeline of design talent to meet organizational demand s . Champion " how design works " within an agile met hodology and engage in exploratory development and iterative processes . Work in a fast-paced, agency-like environment that keeps you on your toes. Day-to-day work will be a combination of design product leadership, people management & leadership , design opportunity nurturing, stakeholder collaboration, and design operations management. The design manager may also take on design execution in some instances to stay in touch with the work and/or to drive portfolio-wide processes, standards, and guidelines. Qualifications POSITION SPECIFICATIONS: Minimum: 4-year Bachelor's Degree in digital design, graphic design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience. 8-10 Total years in combined work and education experience. 5 + years of relevant UX/UI Design experience . 2+ years of Design Leadership experience. Experience and proven competency in communicating and influencing executives and other leadership. Ability to strategically balance innovation, business needs, and customer needs to help shape product design strategy . Dedicated to continuous learning and knowledge building. Have a keen perspective on what it means to be a great manager and motivating leader. Experience coaching, providing design direction, and being a strategic thought leader. Experience planning and leading workshops to engage stakeholder groups . Ability to apply Design Thinking principles to various scenarios . Ability to work in dynamic, often ambiguous conditions requiring rapid transitions between collaborative and individual work . Working knowledge of one to many digital technical stacks and API constructs. Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams in product and engineering . Strong problem solving and analysis ability . Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation and collaboration skills . Self-motivated and able to prioritize and manage workload and meet critical project milestones and deadlines . Ability to prioritize and manage work to adhere to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment . Ability to work with remote teams . A portfolio demonstrating experience with user research, experience strategy, interaction design, and user interface design. Experience should include: Wireframes, user flows, process flows, UI design, and design documentation for complex applications . Please include portfolio link and/ or attachment with application.
