Summary

This position is located in the United States Mint, Office of the Director, Office of the Chief Administrative Officer, Information Technology Directorate (ITD), Application Development Division (ADD), as assigned; and reports to the Enterprise Systems Branch Chief of the ADD. The ADD provides state-of-the-art application development, information management, quality, repeatable work products, and operational support services that complement the United States Mint's business processes.

As an Information Technology Specialist (APPSW/INET Senior Specialist, you will:
  • Lead and coordinate the development of mobile, web applications, client/server applications and SharePoint Apps to meet business and technical requirements, utilizing knowledge of mobile application platforms including, but not limited to Android OS (Google Inc.), Bada (Samsung Electronics), Windows, and iPhone OS/iOS (Apple) as well as cross-platform app development frameworks using HTML5, CSS JavaScript, PHP, Angular JS for example, JQuery Mobile, Python, Java, and Web Content Management Systems e.g. SharePoint and SharePoint Online and WordPress and their associated add-ins and plug-ins; and also SharePoint/SharePoint Online tools such as SharePoint Designer, Visual Studio, SPMeta2.
  • Plan, lead, and coordinate studies relating to IT mobile, web applications, client/server applications and SharePoint Apps to include testing, adjusting and or improving existing IT mobile and web applications for the United States Mint.
  • Lead participation in the planning, development, and implementation of mobile, web applications, client/server applications and SharePoint Apps or e-Government sites used to deliver services to the internal/external customers; coordinate the acquisition, installation, and configuration of the end-to-end infrastructure supporting the application; and ensuring the availability and security of the applications is adhered to.
  • Lead IT mobile, web applications, client/server applications and SharePoint Apps initiatives, committees, and study efforts pertaining to assigned program area, services, and operations, and provide liaison and pertinent information to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead in the resolution of complex problems and issues impacting the United States Mint mission or programs.
  • Communicate complex information orally and in writing.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 14 days of the closing date of this announcement.

For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service.

For all positions, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.

Specialized experience for this position includes:
  • Project experience for a business system with a wide variety of technologies; OR
  • Experience providing IT services, integrating application software; OR
  • Participating in technological planning, product evaluation, and report development

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
