Responsibilities

  • You will support various programs within the Employee Development and Management Branch, with special emphasis on employee training and development for all Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) locations.
  • You will ensure the training programs are designed to meet the current and future needs and goals of NRL.
  • You will assist in data gathering and input for analytical studies, surveys, and evaluations of diverse, new or existing programs, functions or projects that are assigned to the HRO.
  • You will assist in the implementation of new procedures to strengthen and streamline existing programs.
  • You will coordinate HRO responses to surveys, reports, and questionnaires pertaining to the Training Program.
  • You will consult with all levels of the organization to assist in determining immediate and long-term training needs and developmental programs.
  • You will provide technical assistance and guidance in the general fields of professional and administrative development which requires a wide range of employee development programs.
  • You will assist the Training Officer as well as supervisors with development and monitoring of training plans and identification of training sources.
  • You will Identify potential vendors to meet training needs. Disseminate information on new programs.
  • You will review surveys from courses to evaluate the curriculum and the instructor and recommend modification or implementation of new programs.
  • You will plan, develop, and coordinate special training programs.
  • You will research training rules and regulations and write corresponding NRL guidance and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • You will be responsible for forecasting and documenting the training budget for review and approval.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least three years of general experience, that includes one year at or equivalent to the GS-01/04 grade level or NO-01 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. General experience must demonstrate the following: (1) Analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; (2) Plan and organize work; and (3) Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
