This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Responsibilities

  • Serves as a technical expert regarding software support for C2 systems.
  • designs software modifications; evaluates software designs; evaluates systems configurations and monitors implementation.
  • Provides IT advice, assistance, and training to customers who manage the development, production, and sustainment of C2 systems.
  • Formulates, plans, implements, manages, tracks and evaluates large scale and extremely complex IT support projects and their associated requirements and risks.
  • Serves as a technical expert and Command representative in the area of C2 Mission Critical Defense Systems (MCDS) to AMC, PEOs, DA, DOD, other government agencies, and industry on matters related to new IT/software concepts.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.

To qualify you must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below based on the grade level required of the position being filled: 1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2) Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3) Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4) Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

Specialized experience: To qualify, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level (NH-02). Specialized experience is defined as: (1) Working with cloud computing based services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and cloud migration of legacy applications; (2) Working with Container technology related including Docker Container and Kubernetes; (3) Working with networking and internet protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP and distributed networks.
