Description We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer service oriented Senior System Administrator to begin an exciting and challenging career with SAIC. Description: Operate, manage, and monitor the FERC IT Enterprise Management Tools and Services. Maintain operational readiness of all components of the FERC IT Enterprise, ensuring that each component of the environment operates according to component requirements. Maintain and manage the Domain Certificate Lifecycle. Maintain the health and function of all environments, including Development, Test, Staging, Production, and the Research Sandbox for all components of the FERC IT Enterprise. Monitor all IT Enterprise Management Tools daily to ensure proper function of all FERC IT Enterprise Components. Where feasible, configure automated alerts within each IT Enterprise Management Tool. Report where alerts have been established and where alerts are not feasible due to system constraints on a monthly basis. Triage and troubleshoot alerts generated by the tools and any loss of service and escalate to the appropriate FERC Government counterpart. If unable to resolve internally, escalate to the Component Vendor for resolution. Management for Problem Management and Outage requirements. Update existing SOPs for requisite IT Enterprise Management Tools and Services. If an SOP does not exist, collaborate with FERC counterparts to establish acceptable business standards and develop new SOPs. Configure and install, upgrade, and patch FERC-approved software packages including server operating systems (OS). Refer to the EAL for a comprehensive list of software packages. Develop, test, deploy, and support FERC standard workstation images and approved associated core software. Refer to the EAL for a list of Core Software for the Windows 10 image. Support n-1 development and cutover to production, as needed, to maintain daily operation of all existing components of the IT Environment. Perform Backups for all requisite components of the IT Environment as specified in the Electronic Data Management Policy and EMC IDPA Work Instructions. Provide Recovery services upon request, or as specified in the Electronic Data Management Policy and EMC IDPA Work Instructions. Define, monitor and report available capacity versus capacity utilized of applicable components of the IT Environment and report utilization that is approaching established thresholds, including, but not limited to data storage, network bandwidth, etc. Perform Data Management activities when approaching storage thresholds per FERC s Electronic Data Management Policy and the appropriate component-specific SOP, design documents, and best practices. Coordinate with other Vendors, FERC Government Counterparts, and the Core IT COR in the procurement of additional capacity as needed. Configure IT Environment components in accordance with the Configuration Management SOP. Monitor all virtual and physical servers and appliances supporting the FERC IT Enterprise. Identify and resolve address failures in accordance with the ITSC SOP. Monitor usage of licensed software to ensure that FERC has the appropriate amount and type of licenses. Report license usage on a monthly basis, including planned license assignments. Monitor and maintain virtual server farm(s) supporting FERC operations. Deploy approved configuration settings, including security baselines for existing and new software, hardware, and mobile devices. Deploy End Point Agents to all requisite systems on the network. Report any exceptions (not deployed) weekly. Provide inputs in response to internal and external Data Calls and Audit Requests. FERC estimates one (1) annual FISMA Audit, and three (3) to four (4) ad hoc requests. Integrate and consolidate all systems and applications access to the FERC approved, centralized access management tool(s). Integrate and consolidate all systems and applications event logging to FERC approved, centralized event management tool(s). In the event of security incidents, collaborate across the Core IT Program to develop resolution strategies; implement approved resolution strategies. Participate as needed in the execution and resolution of POAMs. Provide inputs (as needed) for POAM development, and contribute to approved resolution strategies, milestone progress reporting, etc. Defines discrete systems with processes to link together complex systems and components with software applications to perform as a coordinated whole. Has a broad range of skills and a breadth of knowledge in several IT disciplines including systems and enterprise architecture, software and hardware engineering, interface protocols, and general problem solving skills. May include analysis of transition planning, intelligence formation requirements, and may develop architecture baselines. Assists with and leads development of integration and migration plans/schedules. Acts as an advocate for internal and external clients as the ultimate authority on the architecture design to address client business problems. Supports business process improvements or systems analysis for missions, systems, and fiscal requirements. Develops solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope. Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained. Contributes to completion of routine technical tasks.
