Summary

About the Position: This position is located in the Engineering Division DPW, JBM-HH

Fort Myer is a 15 minute commute to/from the Arlington National Cemetery Metro Station, a 10-15 minute commute to/from the Rosslyn, Virginia Metro Station.

A recruitment incentive bonus up to 15% may be allowed subject to management approval and eligibility criteria is met.

Three year term appointment may be extended up to five years and may become permanent without further competition.

Responsibilities

  • Performs duties under the direction of the Contract Management and Construction Branch Chief.
  • Project management on construction and repair Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts, requirements contracts, and service contracts.
  • Provide engineering services evaluating tenant requirements, establish scope of work, design criteria, estimates of design time and costs.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. GS-12 Engineering Technician One year specialized experience which includes: Reviews and checks such aspects as drawings, specifications, quantities, costs, accuracy, completeness, and conformity with requirements for each project. Responsible for performing all administrative inspections and modifications necessary to complete projects. Submits reports of documented instances of unacceptable contractor performance and contractor's failure to comply with contractual provisions. Reviews Work Inspection Reports from construction, maintenance and repair contracts.

Education
