Holy Family Parish, located in Randallstown, Maryland, is seeking candidates for a Maintenance Worker, who will provide preventive and corrective maintenance on all equipment, buildings, and grounds at assigned location(s) to ensure safety to all persons, including staff and visitors, and to extend the life and appearance of these facilities. Incumbent will need to maintain flexibility in scheduling and to be on-call for emergencies outside of normal work hours as determined by supervisor. Job Responsibilities : Perform all duties warranted under the Preventive Maintenance Program of the Archdiocese of Baltimore Responsible for the maintenance, cleanliness, and repair of facilities as defined by supervisor Perform all duties related to work area remodeling and repair, including moving furniture and fixtures Perform repairs and maintenance including, but not limited to: painting, carpentry, furniture and equipment repair and assembly; repair/replacement of locks, windows, window blinds, fixtures, doors and hinges, and any other items as requested by supervisor Perform electrical repairs and maintenance including, but not limited to: test and replace electrical outlets; reset breakers; replace fuses; replace light bulbs, tubes, ballasts; repair electric cords and plugs Perform plumbing repairs, maintenance, and clean-up including, but not limited to: replace faucet washers, flush values, and garden hoses; unclog toilets, drains and spouts, etc. Perform general grounds work including, but not limited to: trash removal; tree pruning; shrub and flower planting and watering; clearing sidewalks; removing snow and ice and spreading ice-melt; unloading, storing and distributing supplies Perform a variety of cleaning and systems maintenance and repair duties, including but not limited to: replacing filters; cleaning air ducts and returns; mopping, stripping, waxing, and vacuuming floors; cleaning carpets Perform basic maintenance and repair equipment, hand and power tools, and vehicles as appropriate; may install and repair appliances as specified by supervisor Set up tables, chairs, and other physical items for daytime, evening, and weekend functions as directed. Break down same items upon conclusion of functions. Insure that all buildings are secured in evenings and on weekends to prevent security breaches Assist as needed with grounds-keeping, including shrub pruning, picking up trash, removing snow and ice and spreading ice-melt, etc. to insure that the grounds are maintained in a neat and safe manner Comply with occupational safety regulations regarding chemical handling laws and safety regulations as required Move and transport furniture, books, files and filing cabinets, and other miscellaneous items between and from buildings Maintain daily maintenance logs and work reports indicating time and materials used Maintain inventory of supplies needed to perform job duties Perform other duties as required Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Must possess a valid State driver's license with no more than 3 current points Minimum three years prior experience in skilled and basic maintenance work for professional facilities, including cleaning, building and equipment repair and maintenance, and groundskeeping Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in maintenance in the fields of carpentry, electrical work, cement work, painting and minor drywall repair, plumbing, sanitation, mechanics, lock-smithing, HVAC systems, grounds maintenance, and janitorial care required Must possess ability to operate mobile equipment in a safe manner Incumbent must be able to move furniture, equipment and other materials weighing up to and in excess of 100 pounds; to move about within very tight spaces where large and potentially dangerous equipment is stored; to operate various types of manual and power tools; to ascend and descend ladders as needed No Phone inquiries accepted, applicants must apply online.
