Lab Systems Engineer
Description Summary SAIC has an opportunity for a Lab Systems Engineer to work on an exciting, fast-paced program. This position provides SIGINT subject matter expertise to the director of customer labs and the lab enterprise organization. The successful applicant will provide analysis and recommend solutions to a wide range of complex and technically challenging issues. Primary Responsibilities Support emerging lab projects and mission applications using SIGINT expertiseConduct user outreach and research new system operation techniques to solve hard problemsSupport lab efforts to transition to new architectures and enterprise-scale operationsWork with customer contracting officer, COTR, program Control personnel and development contractor in evaluating new, proposed task orders targeting new initiatives for the labsRepresent customer equities regarding new mission capabilities at various multi-directorate forumsSupport compliance efforts by reviewing artifacts outlining agency's positions and advising the customerEffectively communicate and collaborate with engineers from various companies and customer organizations; prepare and present technical briefings to customer as requiredConsolidate and prepare weekly activity reports for the lab enterprise Qualifications TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experienceRequired Education/Experience Contract dictates Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline; 5+ years hands-on technical experience Required Qualifications Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with PolyAt least 5 years of hands-on SIGINT experienceHands-on experience across multiple engineering disciplines to include: Systems engineering; software development;, and integration and test Experience with requirements development, interface control documentation, technical specification review, architecture, and CONOPS development Experience in mission operations environment - high ops tempo, performance characterization, utility analysis, system calibrations Ability to readily translate abstract concepts and requirements into working products Polished communication skills-verbal and written. Must possess the ability to explain technical topics in a manner understood by stakeholders. Must also possess strong writing skills. Familiarity with commercial database management and virtualization software, including Oracle and/or VMware Proficient with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), MS Outlook, MS Project, SharePoint, Jira, and ConfluenceDesired Qualifications5+ years of related engineering experience in operational systemsExperience directly supporting General Officers/Flag Officers/SES/SIS personnelPrior Intelligence Community work experienceExperience writing on deadline Industry certifications (eg PMP, CSEP, AWS, etc.) and/or SIGINT technical training/education Overview SAIC is a premier technology integrator solving our nation's modernization and readiness challenges.
