To learn more, visit . GEOSPATIAL PRACTICE We are a national leader in implementing approaches to development and deployment of scalable enterprise Geospatial Information Technology (GIT) solutions. Michael Baker International has differentiated itself and expanded its capabilities by using the latest technologies. For example, we use aerial, static and mobile Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) systems that accurately determine range, elevation, and other critical mapping data. With hundreds of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), survey, mapping and IT professionals in our Geospatial Practice across North America, Michael Baker International possesses in-house experience and resources to support all elements the of geospatial program needs, including: needs analysis, digitizing/data conversion, customized mapping applications, and systems documentation, implementation, and training. DESCRIPTION Michael Baker International is seeking a highly motivated programmer to work in a high energy and fast pace development team. You will work on multiple products, activities and projects as a project team member and occasionally as a project leader. You will assist on moderately complex tasks, projects, activities or support issues that require increased skills in multiple technical environments. Other duties include: Responsibility for the analysis, development, modification, installation, testing and maintenance of custom software tools to be utilized supporting a GIS environment. Responsibility for applying updates or changes to adhere to system security requirements. Assisting in evaluation of vendor supplied software packages. Modifying and/or debugging vendor-supplied utilities and packages. Modifying, installs and preparing technical documentation for system software applications. Diagnosing, isolating and de-bugging software problems and performance of problem resolution. Adhering to standards for development, including source control, coding standards, test plans, and documentation. PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related technical field of study or equivalent work experience. 3 years of real-world web programming. Candidate must possess US citizenship or permanent US residency. Experience with the following development software/applications/frameworks/web services is required: JEE web applications ASP.NET web applications Python; JavaScript framework JQuery ExtJS (Sencha) Bootstrap Experience working with large geospatial data sets including Server, Google Map APIs, and OpenLayers APIs. Possesses an understanding of systems programming and graphical user interfaces. Experience with Oracle and PostgreSQL. Experience with PostGIS extension is a plus.
