This position is located in the Office Infrastructure and Operations, Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
The Deputy Chief Information Officer for Infrastructure and Operations (Deputy CIO) directs five OCIO divisions and provides leadership in a visionary and collaborative manner to accomplish strategic HUD information technology missions, goals and programs objectives. The Deputy CIO works collaboratively with the Chief Information Officer (CIO), the Principal Deputy CIO, and other senior leaders within and external to OCIO.

Current or Former Political Appointees: The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. MANDATORY EXECUTIVE CORE QUALIFICATIONS

MANDATORY TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS

This position is located in the Office Infrastructure and Operations, Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
The Deputy Chief Information Officer for Infrastructure and Operations (Deputy CIO) directs five OCIO divisions and provides leadership in a visionary and collaborative manner to accomplish strategic HUD information technology missions, goals and programs objectives. - Responsible for ensuring that IT Infrastructure is acquired, and information resources are managed for the Department in a manner that implements the requirements of the Clinger-Cohen Act of 1996. Responsible for developing and implementing Departmental policies and procedures related to IT Infrastructure and Operations pertaining to all aspects of the planning, design, implementation, security, maintenance and utilization of automated information systems, office automation, and related resources and services.
- Oversees the planning, facilitation and collaboration between sponsors and various stakeholders to clearly identify and prioritize needs and formulate plans necessary to address the stated needs.
- Serves as the principal advisor to the CIO and Principal Deputy CIO on the application of technology infrastructure to improve business processes through implementation, maintenance and operation of HUD's technology enterprise systems, applications and technology planning procedures and the protection of HUD's mission critical and essential technology systems and applications.
- Ensures that HUD's technology infrastructure are current and on platforms that improve productivity. Develops strategic, tactical and technology plans and processes and budgets to support HUD's mission. Ensure that HUD is on the leading edge of technology choices. Ensure that all aspects of the technology projects are aligned with the government wide enterprise architecture.
- Oversight of the Data Center Service Division ensuring the coordination and management of data center tools and resources to support HUD's critical business and management programs with efficient, cost-effective information systems and operational, maintenance, and integration services. Provides guidance, contract oversight, and expertise for HUD's data centers supporting operations and disaster recovery. Provides leadership and guidance to Division Director, the expert in data center optimization, data center policies, and enterprise system lifecycle management and the senior technical authority regarding Data Center optimization policies, programs, and projects for the Department. Provides leadership, guidance, expert advice, and collaboration across the extended HUD enterprise to include the programs, field sites, and contractor communities in developing, promoting, incorporating, and maintaining IT and data center infrastructure and operations to adequately and cost effectively meet HUD's current and future business needs.
- Oversight of the Unified Communication Service Division ensuring coordination and management of local, wide area, wireless, and secure networks, communication and collaboration tools, and resources to support HUD's critical business and management programs with efficient, cost-effective information systems and operational, maintenance, and integration services. Provides guidance, contract oversight, and expertise for HUD's network communications, and collaboration tools supporting operations and disaster recovery. Provides leadership and guidance to Unified Communication Service Division Director, the expert in network, communications, and collaboration tool optimization, network, communications, collaboration tool policies, enterprise lifecycle management and the senior technical authority regarding network services, communications, and collaboration tool optimization policies, programs, and projects for the Department.
