Are you interested in applying your expertise and skills to solve the dynamic workforce management challenges of an international, 21 st century, law enforcement organization? We are seeking a data scientist that is curious about these questions and eager to help!

The Human Resource Division at the Drug Enforcement Administration is seeking a talented and visionary data scientist to support a performance based organizational culture. This individual will oversee the building of our human capital data ecosystem, develop analytics and models to address the human capital policy and programs.

Through your efforts you will connect disparate data sets and systems. You will use these data sets to build models that address workforce challenges impacting recruitment, retention, engagement and development. As the data ecosystem continues to evolve, you will be challenged to build predictive and prescriptive models to address policy and program management challenges. Your expertise in presenting analyses and findings to executive leadership will enable educated and deliberate decision making focused on facts.

As a member of the DEA data governance board, you will influence agency data management and represent the key considerations for the storage, retrieval and use of human capital and other data sets. Within the DEA HR Division, you will join with HR leaders and subject matter experts to develop data literacy and analytics capabilities.

Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENTS
Degree: in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

In addition to the basic education requirement, applicants must meet the specialized experience requirement listed below.

GS-14 : Must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 Federal grade level performing the following duties: structuring data in a data environment; developing predictive models to address management issues; independently developing mathematical models and computer programs to evaluate and predict the ability to support assigned projects and studies; and providing technical guidance and advisory support on projects or major phases of broad operations.
