Qualifications
You qualify for the GS-15 grade level if meet both the Basic Requirement and/or a combination of Specialized Experience and the Basic Education requirement shown below.
Basic Requirement: You must meet one of the following:Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, statistics, or actuarial science. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position. Bachelor's Degree which was obtained per successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university.

Combination of education and experience: Courses should be equivalent to a major field of study as mathematics, statistics, or actuarial science. Specialized Experience Requirement:
You may qualify for the GS-1501-15 grade level, if you possess at least one year of Specialized Experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level performing the following duties: 1) Leading and applying principles, theories, and methodologies of a specialty area as it relates to the disciplines of mathematics, statistics, and operations research. 2) Providing expert consultation to an office, agency, and/or departmental leadership regarding homeland security risk and cyber infrastructure threats and incidents. 3) Planning, organizing and directing the scientific techniques, functions and staff. 4) Knowledge of risk analysis programs, goals, priorities, policies and commitments of an assigned organization. 5) Implementing analytical and evaluative techniques to identify, investigate, and resolve complex problems. 6) Present ideas, policies, and technical issues orally, in writing and at high level management briefings.
National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

This is a supervisory position.

Responsibilities
The primary purpose of the position is to serve as Supervisory Data Scientist GS-1501-15.
Typical work assignments include:
- Serve as branch chief responsible for overseeing the development and execution of NRMC's quantitative analytic capabilities.
- Exercise supervisory personnel and administrative management responsibilities.
- Promote awareness of security issues to ensure the organization's vision and goals.
- Implement policies and procedures to protect the critical infrastructure.
- Provide technical expert guidance to assess policy needs and to govern cyber activities.
- Develop plans, programs and interagency agreements to provide quantitative analytics to assess cyber and infrastructure risk.
- Perform high-level analytical, representational duties to facilitate the accomplishments of the NRMC analytic mission.
- Lead quantitative analytical studies of existing and planned infrastructure networks, programs, data and systems.
