As a Program Analyst (UX/UI Designer), GS-0343-11/12 (FPL GS-12), you will be part of HRS FSC USAJOBS Program Management Office, Office of Personnel Management. Responsibilities

  • Develops graphic materials, website content and other media deliverables including field of composition, cover execution, layout and paste-up of text and illustrations for publications, templates, slides, charts, graphs, and other materials.
  • Develops and support usability testing efforts to include test scenarios and other relevant test tools, recruitment of test participants, and coordination of overall testing at various facilities and/or online.
  • Conducts and facilitates UX/UI design methods to uncover meaningful insights that drive great design and innovation in the federal government.
  • Cultivates an environment of sustained creativity within the USAJOBS program.
  • Directly facilitates problem-solving sessions, human-centered design immersion projects, design sprints, and other meetings and sessions as needed.

Qualifications

To qualify for the grade GS-11, you must have one of the following:
  • One full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-9 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). Such experience includes ALL of the following: 1) participating in ideation sessions using human-centered design tools to build thinking teams AND 2) assisting in design synthesis to make sense of qualitative data to uncover latent user needs or insights AND 3) contributing to the development of a design project problem statement to focus the research AND 4) developing design wireframes, mock-ups, and high fidelity prototypes using industry standard tools (e.g. Adobe Illustrator, Sketch, InVision, etc.) AND 5) conducting user research through contextual interviews and synthesizing the data to present findings and recommendations. (Note: your resume must fully support this response otherwise you will not be rated qualified.)
OR
  • Completed a Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D.) or equivalent doctoral degree, or three (3) full years of progressively higher level graduate education (54 semester units or equivalent) leading to a Ph.D. in a field that provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform this work.
OR
  • Have a combination of education and specialized experience as described above.

Such experience includes ALL of the following: 1) leading design discovery research and contextual inquiry to understand the problems users are facing, prioritizing insights from that research, and presenting those insights to stakeholders AND 2) exploring and iterating on design wireframes, mock-ups, and high fidelity prototypes using industry standard tools (e.g. Adobe Illustrator, Sketch, InVision, etc.) to improve the quality of proposed solutions AND 3) constructing usability test scripts, conducts usability tests, analyzing test results, to present findings to stakeholders AND 4) leading design critique sessions to incorporate feedback and critique from leads and colleagues.
