Description SAIC's National Security Group is seeking a Microelectronics Systems Engineer to provide systems engineering and technical advisory (SETA) services to a customer within the Intelligence Community (IC) in Chantilly, VA. This customer is responsible for designing, building, and operating national security-related systems based in space, in the air, and on the ground. SAIC has an opening for a mid-level engineer to provide SETA services to an IC customer who is responsible for maturing and developing radiation-hardened microelectronics technology from applied research into demonstrably mature capabilities that can be inserted into system program baselines. Roles and Responsibilities: Directly support government program manager in project management and execution of rad-hard microelectronics efforts Plan and execute technology maturation of rad-hard microelectronics through the research and development life cycle Support transition of mature rad-hard microelectronics hardware to system program offices for flight development Provide technical recommendations to IC customer for future rad-hard high-performance microelectronics development strategy and roadmap Work closely with the IC customer supporting all phases of the acquisition strategy and process to include Requests for Proposal, Statements of Work, Requirements, Contract Data Requirements Lists and other required solicitation/contract documents, as well as, support to source selection activities as an advisor Survey state of the art technologies to help guide the program manager and provide recommendations for future technology development Assist the IC customer with the oversight of technology development contracts and develop status briefings for government and industry Interact with outside organizations within the DoD and IC for maximum effect Provide identification, assessment and resolution of risks during the acquisition phase and during program execution Work with the IC customer to advance resiliency activities/initiatives in rad-hard microelectronics Qualifications Required Qualifications: Active TS/SCI with CI Poly Bachelor degree in Physics, Engineering, Chemistry, Math or related discipline + 10 years related experience Knowledge of microelectronics hardware technologies and the electronics industry R&D project management experience A willingness to learn about radiation effects on microelectronics and space-based microelectronics Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic and energetic environment Good working knowledge of MS Office applications Effective interpersonal skills and strong briefing and writing skills Aptitude for on-site Systems Engineering and Technical Advisor (SETA) work Desired Qualifications: Advanced degree in Physics, Engineering, Chemistry, Math or related discipline Knowledge of leading edge technologies, such as 2.5D microelectronic chips and neuromorphic computing Knowledge of radiation effects on microelectronics and space-based microelectronics hardware Familiarity with Government and IC acquisition, budget and contracting processes Experience and ability to coordinate with DoD or IC R&D organizations Overview SAIC is a premier technology integrator solving our nation's modernization and readiness challenges.
