Title: Senior Could Platform Engineer JOB DUTIES: This is a senior engineer role for the development, deployment and operations of Platforms and services in public cloud. Focus is on engineering Docker Containers and Kubernetes Platform design. Our Client has 300 to 400 applications in the container platform which represents 25% of the company's revenue. It's critical. They could have experience with EKS or Cluster or GKE (G for Google) Consultant must have coding experience with Python or Groovy. Not all the work will be manual so ability to Automate to scale. Candidates should also have the full development life cycle experience. Job description: Design, build, and automate new solutions centered around the Kubernetes container orchestration platform and its ecosystem Establish continuous delivery pipelines for deployment of applications and related services Automate the provisioning, deployment, and operation of testing, staging, and production environments Configure and use system monitoring tools and notification/alerting services Modernize platform and drive adoption of Kubernetes and Cloud Native technologies Assist development teams to migrate applications to Kubernetes Must Have Skills 5+ years of experience in design, implementation, monitoring, and troubleshooting Kubernetes & Docker Container Orchestration infrastructure. Expert knowledge and experience implementing/supporting Kubernetes Experience in continuous delivery pipelines for deployment of applications and related services Expert leveraging and managing CI/CD toolchain products like Gitlab, Jira, Artifactory, and Jenkins Expert knowledge with CentOS, Alpine or other Linux derivatives Strong knowledge of Public Cloud architectures, configurations, services, and solutions (Amazon Web Services Cloud Formation, EC2, ELB, S3, ASG, Cloudwatch). Strong understanding of Application Architectures, microservices design, 12 factor applications Working knowledge of writing code and scripts in Ruby, Python, Go, BASH Strong knowledge of Configuration management tools like Ansible Experience with New Relic, Prometheus, or other monitoring solutions Expert knowledge of information systems concepts, system administration, and cloud platforms Strong technical/analytical skills Strong interpersonal skills Strong organizational and problem solving abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proven ability to work under pressure and deliver sound results Good Linux system administrator skills and TCP/IP network fundamentals DESIRED SKILLS: Knowledge of AWS EKS or Google GKE Knowledge of system design and hardware at an enterprise level Experience with networking is a plus EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, Applied Physics or relevant discipline REQUIRED SHIFT: Typically 8 to 5.
