Description Job Description: Leidos is seeking a Senior Java / Spring Software Develope r for our SSA ITSSC II program in Baltimore, MD. As our Senior Java / Spring Software Developer, you are an accomplished technical leader, proactive customer-focused advocate, a team player with substantial software engineering experience. You will provide hands-on experience with enterprise software development, integration, implementation, test automation, and SOA/Microservice architecture to a cross-functional software development team. You have a good foundation with Java, JEE platform, Spring Framework, Microservice architecture, REST, USDS Plays, and SQL/Data Modelling. Front-end development experience is a plus, such as Angular, Typescript, Web Content Accessibility, and UX. You must demonstrate a willingness to learn new innovative technologies, research & author expert recommendations in whitepapers, and overcome technical challenges in a fast-paced environment. You will play a key role in enhancing modern applications or modernizing legacy applications leveraging cloud computing, DevOps, or Big Data technologies. Responsibilities: Architect, design, code, and implement next-generation web application using software engineering best practices in the latest technologies: API development (REST, JSON, Microservice architecture) Spring Framework (Boot, REST, Security, Data) DevOps (Jenkins, Red Hat OpenShift, Docker, SonarQube, UrbanCode) Provide software expertise in one or more of these areas: Java application integration, Java enterprise services, service oriented architectures (SOA), security, business process management/business rules processing, user experience (UX) and accessibility (Section 508/WCAG/USDS Web Standards) Investigate and repair application defects regardless of component: front-end, business logic, middleware, or database (PL/SQL and Data Modeling). Brief management, customer, team, or vendors using written or oral skills at appropriate technical level for audience All other duties as assigned or directed Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field with 8 years' of prior relevant experience Master s or Doctorate s degree may substitute for required experience 7+ years of experience with full lifecycle development 7+ years of experience with Java systems/application analysis & design 4+ years of combined experience SOA/Microservice architecture/RESTful web service Experience in an Agile development team, preferably Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance Key Required Skills: Java EE, Spring Framework, Agile development, relational databases (PostgreSQL, DB2, or Oracle), and SOA/Microservice architecture Required Skills: Excellent knowledge of Java EE, Java generics and concurrent programming. Excellent knowledge of Spring Framework (Boot, REST, Security, Data) Excellent knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, DB2, Oracle), SQL, and ORM technologies (Hibernate, Spring JDBC, JPA) Solid experience with automated unit testing, TDD, BDD, and associated technologies (Junit, Mockito, Cucumber, Selenium) Basic knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML, JavaScript, JQuery, JSP, CSS) Desired Skills: An in-depth knowledge of Social Security Administration (SSA) modern development environment Preferred experience with API development & monitor tools (Ready API, Swagger, Splunk, Dynatrace) Preferred experience with delivery (CI/CD) best practices and DevOps to production Preferred experience with PaaS using Red Hat OpenShift / Kubernetes, and Docker containers Preferred experience with AWS cloud technologies or other cloud platforms Preferred experience with building responsive UIs with modern front end technologies (Angular, React, Node, Typescript, Bootstrap) External Referral Bonus: Eligible Potential for Telework: No Clearance Level Required: Public Trust Travel: No Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Shift: Day Requisition Category: Professional Job Family: Software Engineering Leidos is a Fortune 500 information technology, engineering, and science solutions and services leader working to solve the world s toughest challenges in the defense, intelligence, homeland security, civil, and health markets.
