Senior Systems Architect ATAC has an opening for a Senior Systems Architect. This is a full-time position located in Washington DC, the Atlantic City New Jersey area, or Santa Clara California. Other East Coast locations may be considered for the right candidate. The successful candidate will support large scalable systems for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) that collect and analyze massive volumes of data from a variety of sources to develop safety analyses, including the Aviation Safety Information Analysis and Sharing (ASIAS) system. Responsibilities will include: Serve as a technical/engineering expert for a new IT architecture platform, integrating advanced analytical tools (using artificial intelligence/machine learning technologies) into the next generation system; coordinate the design and collection/processing/analysis of multiple sources and varieties of data (digital, text and other) at scale. Be responsible for the architectural design, development, and deployment of the technical infrastructure, working on advanced projects requiring state of the art technical knowledge. The infrastructure includes cloud automation, hardware, software, network, data fusion, visualization and analytical tools, web portals, associated servers and security, and other components. Lead the program s transition from legacy system to the next generation system incorporating advanced analytic capabilities, update operating procedures based on business processes; develop and implement the transition plan to ensure a successful transition. Advise and support the development and implementation of system requirements, based on stakeholder needs and program office direction. A background check will be required for this position. Qualifications ATAC is looking for a self-starter that can work independently and complete projects with minimum oversight. They must be adaptable and able to learn new coding languages, tools, and technologies as necessary to meet customer needs. Required attributes include: A Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, or Operations Researchand 10to 15years of related job experience. Five-plus years of recent and quantifiable experience in major systems architecture efforts. Demonstrated ability to design and implement major IT/big data systems; broad experience with developing big data systems to collect, process, and analyze multiple varieties of data at scale, and to understand component interactions and interfaces. Broad expertise and knowledge of big data technologies and cloud computing, networking, storage and security principles and operations; experience in visualizing multi-dimensional data and integrating various machine learning approaches. A solid track record of data management including high-level knowledge of data mining, machine learning, natural language processing, and information retrieval with experience creating strategy and roadmaps to leverage/integrate advanced technology, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. Demonstrated experience decomposing high-level requirements into actionable technical courses and developing associated engineering artifacts that support system functional requirements, technical specifications, and performance standards. Demonstrated ability to manipulate datasets with modern languages such as Python (scikit-learn, pandas, tensorflow), SAS, MATLAB, C++, R, PHP, or Java. Experience with visualizing multi-dimensional data using business intelligence tools such as Tableau, ggplot2, matplotlib, seaborn, PowerBI, GIS, or D3.js. Experience balancing distribution of analysis outputs with protection of contributor identities. Experience evaluating and integrating big data techniques, such as hashing and encryption, to limit the exposure of sensitive information, while enhancing connectivity and interfaces. Ability and desire to quickly learn new technologies in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment. Excellent written and oral communication skills and interpersonal relations skills. US citizenship or permanent residency. Some travel required. Desired attributes include: Experience with AWS cloud services, Agile software development, and Big Data concepts.
