Responsibilities This full time position is to support the day-to-day operation of information technology (IT) infrastructure .. The candidate will be part of a small team of system and network engineers performing administrative functions for the maintenance, upgrade, and troubleshooting this IT, network and cybersecurity infrastructure. The position requires on-site work in the Silver Spring, Maryland location. Very interesting work, everything to do with wireless communications and more. Job security in that they have a steady stream of government contracts that will last for years. Very innovative organization. Not too large (300 people roughly) Requirements: BS degree in a technical discipline such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Security, or Information Technology or equivalent applied experience. At least 2 years working and extensive experience administering Linux/Unix (desktop and server) Prefer experiences in CentOS and Ubuntu At least 1 year experience with Linux scripting Python is preferred, Unix shell script is required Solid understanding of networking protocols and concepts, such as DNS, DHCP, SSL, VPN, and TCP/IP Basic network administration expertise for maintaining - wiring, changing configurations, adding/changing wiring and connections to ports on switches, debugging, enable or disable switch ports, configure VLAN/VXLAN ports and IP routes At least 1 year experience with Linux scripting Python is preferred, Unix shell script is required Experience in computer hardware maintenance, troubleshooting and repair (desktop and server) examples include replace hard disk or solid state disk, upgrade memory, correctly identifying compatible hardware parts Experience in basic network device configuration and troubleshooting such as active or disable a switch port, trace routing paths Experience in installing and troubleshooting Linux device drivers U. S. Citizenship Active Secret Clearance Highly Desirable skills: Firewall administration experience Working knowledge of Citrix Xen, VMware, and or Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization Working experience in configuring iSCSI or other network attached storage devices Fundamental understanding of Cyber Security or information system security domain of knowledge DoD TS clearance Requires 5 to 8 years with BS/BA or 3 to 5 years with MS/MA or 0 to 2 years with PhD.
