As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will conduct and manage projects, and develop tools, analysis, and reports to identify and evaluate risks and monitor and analyze the condition and performance of the banking system.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will:
  • Research and identify appropriate primary and secondary data and data sources from public and private entities and academic institutions, as well as financial and banking data associated with OCC supervisory activities.

  • Develop and apply analytical tools to construct, manipulate, validate, and analyze very large datasets containing complex and interrelated economic and financial data and derive variables, produce metrics, replicate and compare data to bank-produced reports and products.

  • Independently prepare and deliver analytical presentations , dashboards, spreadsheets and reports on banking and the financial services industry for the Comptroller, Committee on Bank Supervision (CBS), National Risk Committee (NRC), and other senior management officials.

  • Prepare analysis of SAS or other datasets of a large size in order to advise on various banking and financial services or projects, and monitor and analyze the condition and performance of the banking/financial services system.
  • Write complex computer programs and code using sophisticated statistical software tools such as SAS or STATA as well as other quantitative analysis tools and techniques such as SQL, JavaScript or Python.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 60 calendar days after the closing date of this announcement:

You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the NB-V band level in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience for this position include:
  • Utilizing SAS or similar statistical analysis software to analyze large financial data-sets applicable to the banking and financial services industries; AND
  • Developing reports, technical materials, and/or user guides relating to financial data analysis systems, methods or procedures for a financial institution.

The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or through volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.

  • At the discretion of management, this position may be filled in an alternate location (any U.S. location of the OCC) provided the location is cost effective, operationally efficient, and complies with the standards contained in PPM 3110-53.
  • Salary range includes 22.26% geographical pay.
