The primary purpose of this position is to provide long term continuity as the 480 ISR Wing's Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) Program Manager. Serves as the senior policy advisor and program director under the Director of Operations. Provides GEOINT expertise to Wing Commander, Staff, six geographically separated active duty Groups and 24 active duty Squadrons as an GEOINT specialist.

Responsibilities

  • Plans the appropriate collection planning method and subsequent gathering of semi-complex to complex intelligence data
  • Provides ISR semi-complex to complex capabilities to service, national, and coalition customers within defined areas of responsibility
  • Disseminates semi-complex to complex data from multi-source intelligence sources
  • Plans and directs semi-complex to complex ISR operations to successfully conduct operations assignments in support of the war-fighter and/or combatant commanders within the assigned areas of responsibility
  • Serves as a functional expert on collection and operations ISR issues

  • Position is designated special-sensitive and requires eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information, other Special Sensitive information, or involvement in Top Secret Special Access Programs to fully perform the duties of the position
  • PCS expenses will NOT be paid IAW JTR and Air Force Regulations

  • Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends and/or holidays
  • Shift work and emergency overtime may be required
  • Employee must maintain current certifications

  • This is a Mission-Essential position performing a Mission-Critical-Function which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions
  • The duties of this position meets all requirements as a category 4 designation, and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the office to function effectively
  • This position must be removed from the Ready Reserve and CAN NOT become a member of the Ready Reserve. (IAW: DoDD 1200.7, "Screening the Ready Reserve.
  • The employee may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft
  • Incumbent is required to undergo a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination.


Qualifications

The GG-12 duties for the Professional work category are at the Full Performance work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-12 level.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management positions.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: Knowledge of a wide range of intelligence research and collection methods, techniques, and practices to use multi-source intelligence information systems to report on and make recommendations in developing intelligence capabilities and threat assessments.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of a wide range of intelligence research and collection methods, techniques, and practices to use multi-source intelligence information systems to report on and make recommendations in developing intelligence capabilities and threat assessments.
2. Knowledge of advanced intelligence dissemination principles, concepts, and methods to disburse semi-complex to complex information/situations attained from multiple sources.
3. Knowledge of the national intelligence community, Joint, DoD structure, organizations, and mission/functions, inter-relationships and operations.
4. Skill in conducting unbiased, difficult research, identify appropriate available systems/data sources, and produce collections requirements assessments that answer specific tasks to link and leverage agency capabilities and to develop new methods, approaches, or procedures.
5. Ability to communicate effectively with others, both orally and in writing, in working out solutions to problems or questions related to the work, writing clear and concise intelligence products, and delivering written and/or verbal presentations to senior level audiences for decision-making purposes.
6. Ability to maintain control of classified material, assimilate disparate data, render knowledgeable and accurate assessments of the implication of such data estimates, and make effective recommendations under conditions of urgency and pressure.

Engages in the semi-complex to complex collection and reporting of information obtained from multi-intelligence sources, through various means, related to political, economic, social, cultural, physical, geographic, scientific, and/or military conditions, trends, and forces that directly or indirectly affect national security.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
