T8C3 is looking for a for someone eager to apply their software development and computer science skills in a dynamic research environment supporting the Integration Demonstration and Experimentation for Aviation (IDEA) Lab. The IDEA Lab is an extensible, scalable, real-time distributed simulation environment based on an open, layered architecture. It brings together a broad set of integrated capabilities for human-in-the-loop simulations, demonstrations, and visualizations. It is an environment capable of handling a range of exploratory concepts, while also being realistic enough to provide a high-quality user experience.The position requires creative problem-solving skills, good communication skills, an eagerness to learn new skills, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.Responsibilities include:Software development of real-time simulation applicationsWorking as part of a team of software engineers, experiment designers, aviation operational domain (Flight Deck, Air Traffic Control) experts, and human factors engineers to help demonstrate and test concepts for the FAA and other sponsors in an iterative rapid-prototyping environment.Basic Qualifications:Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or applicants who are eligible for security clearances.Required Qualifications:Experience with C++/Java/NodeJS and other modern software languagesExperience with Linux based software developmentExposure to Full Stack Web DevelopmentPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor''s or Master''s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline1-3 years of software development experienceExperience with modern web-based development (eg Angular.JS, Vue.JS)Experience in or exposure to DevOps conceptsExposure to configuration Management Concepts(eg Git)Experience with or Exposure to containerization and/or virtualizationExposure to native/hybrid mobile developmentExperience or interest in aviationMITRE is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
