Summary

This position is located in the Epidemiology and Genomics Research Program (EGRP). EGRP is seeking exceptional, dynamic candidates for the position of Lead Public Health Advisor with responsibility for providing technical leadership to work more effectively with public health and disease specialty care agencies to stimulate the development of evidence-based cancer prevention consistent with the cancer control objectives of NCI. Responsibilities

  • Lead a team responsible for conducting policy and program analyses of a wide range of issues related to DCCPS's research initiatives, grants, and scientific administrative programs.
  • Collaborate with staff members on the development and implementation of new program initiatives, innovations in structure, communication systems, cooperation with other partners, and other activities.
  • Assist in organizing and participating in symposia and discussions with national and international scientific, public health and clinical practice leaders.
  • Prepare and oversee contract support for the development of program evaluation reports on these activities, with a particular focus on address equal access to the benefits of NCI's investments in discovery to intervention development research.

Qualifications

You qualify at the GS-14 level, if you meet one of the following qualification requirements:

You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: establishing short and long term goals, operational plans and programs for a public health organization; interpreting information on a variety of public health related issues; establishing program standards, polices, strategies, goals, and evaluation plans; collecting and interpreting data and information research from a variety of sources; and formulating, implementing, and evaluating legislative polices impacting on research activities and programs.
