ADJUNCT FACULTY IN BIOLOGY Randolph-Macon College Randolph-Macon College invites applications for an adjunct position in Biology for January 2021. We encourage candidates seeking to gain teaching experience in the liberal arts setting to apply. We seek an Adjunct Professor of Biology to teach an upper-level course in molecular biology, with the specific topic in the candidate's area of specialty. The course will be a 3-credit hour non-lab course, taught in a four-week format in our January term, entirely online. The course must include synchronous learning opportunities. Applicants must hold at Ph.D. in biology or a related field at time of hire. Major/Essential Functions: The adjunct professor will teach one 3-credit hour online course during the January term. The adjunct professor must offer regular synchronous learning opportunities. Minimum Qualifications Ph.D. in Biology or a related field; Interest in teaching undergraduate students. Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching at the collegiate level; Experience teaching online; Demonstrated effectiveness teaching undergraduates; Evidence of working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds toward shared goals; Evidence of success using pedagogical methods that enable students across racial, ethnic, and socio-economic groups to reach their maximum potential; Experience with a liberal arts framework.
