A' A' Note: This is a Remote/ Virtual/ Work from Home position with a preferred home of record in the DC Metro area. A' JOB DESCRIPTION : A' Engineers will help execute NSWC Crane's engineering strategy in support of OSD, providing broad support spanning Systems Engineering and Integration, Technology Capability Assessment, and Test and Transition activities. This position will require heavy interface and collaboration with Senior DoD personnel, multiple DoD primes, and other systems engineers to define and interpret requirements, stand up engineering processes, and provide lifecycle management of the systems and subsystems. A' JOB DUTIES : A' Responsibilities include but are not limited to: A' Support Systems Engineering, and Systems Integration and Test Working Groups. Support development and review of program and engineering documentation (Systems Engineering Plan, CM Plan, Risk Opportunity Management Plan, System Test and Verification Plan, system/subsystem specification (SSS), interface control document (ICD), interface requirements specification (IRS), software architecture documents) to support program operations and facilitate coordinated inter-service technology development. Demonstrate practical life-cycle systems engineering experience which includes stakeholder needs definition, system requirements definition and management; system architecture, analysis and design; integration, test, and verification; and, system performance assessment. Help develop and ensure system requirements validation and verification methods are captured. Support leadership in use-case development processes. Support technical reviews of system engineering products and models. Support technical review and assessment of technologies, concepts and systems. Support identification of hypersonic technology gaps. Advise on issues of feasibility and applicability of relevant new technologies. Analyze alternatives to optimize performance and improve understanding of systems architecture and components. Prepare deliverables that include data collection, gap analyses, utilization analyses, statistical and forecasting analyses, presentations, written reports and recommendations. Provide technical support to acquisition and programmatic processes. Have a solid grasp of MBSE to effectively communicate system structure, behavior, requirements, and provide parametric analysis to Program Office and Modeling and Simulation stakeholders. Develop documents and briefings to clearly communicate work or study status, brief government and industry as required. Support Test and Transition Coordination activities, including: DT events across Hypersonics T&E Enterprise, System Flight Test and qualification events, Transition Policy in collaboration with USD (R&E) and OUSD (A&S), and Transition Integration to meet design and production on-ramps for multiple programs. A' #CRN Qualifications REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE : A' Bachelors and 9 years, Masters and 7 years, or equivalent experience with degree in Engineering Technical Discipline (Aerospace preferred). Understanding of military weapons systems development and operations. Solid understanding of DoD Systems Engineering Process and Requirements. Experience with Requirements Decomposition analysis and Decomposition. Experience with and understanding of system modeling and analysis. Experience implementing systems engineering plans and MBSE processes. Experience with Model Based Engineering (MBE) and Model-Based Engineering System Tools and procedures. Strong interpersonal, communication (written and verbal), and coordination skills. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Must currently possess an active DOD Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance. A' DESIRED EXPERIENCE: A' Experience supporting Advanced Technology development/transition activities. Prior DOD experience supporting OSD, Navy, or Air Force Programs. Ability to provide technical and programmatic direction on the development, integration and use of MBE and MBSE models. Ability to mentor the development of MBSE and MBSE systems engineers.
