The Ambulatory EHR Manager manages and oversees the EHR Ambulatory team responsible for the management of all instances of ambulatory EHRs serving AHC. This role owns the relationship with the EHR vendors and is responsible for the availability and performance of the EHR platforms, as well as the growth and improvements of the platforms over time to most effectively serve AHCs clinical and financial needs of ambulatory services.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
• Manages the EHR Ambulatory team including the EHR Analysts, the Ancillary Applications Analysts and the Revenue Cycle Management Analyst to ensure operational tasks are completed in a timely manner for all EHR instances
• Plans growth of the Ambulatory EHR platforms (ECW and HomeCare HomeBase) and integrations to meet growth and needs of the business by maintaining current knowledge of EMR and working collaboratively with leadership on system enhancements, modifications, and corrections to meet clinical, financial, and regulatory needs of AHC
• Ensures availability and performance standards of the EHR systems, manages system maintenance including upgrades, packages (service, exception and content), patches, and reviews all release notes, and coordinates troubleshooting/resolution of complex issues with EHR vendors and other 3rd parties within the framework of ITIL principles and in alignment with other IT services
• Manages relationship with EHR Vendors for strategy and product roadmap and tracks technology changes with remote hosting vendor and plans upgrades and implementations to maintain current platform
• Provides support and assistance to end users to ensure all requests are heard and processed, and serves as escalation point for customers on Service Requests and Problem Tickets as needed to ensure customer satisfaction
• Documents and describes workflow, processes and standard operating procedures relating to current environments and identifies, documents, and escalates issues and/or opportunities for improvement to leadership and management of knowledge base
• Leads proactive approach in maintaining system performance through use of monitoring tools and logs and participates in on-call 24/7 rotation for support
• Leads the change management process to ensure controlled system modifications, patient safety and operational efficiency by leading change control meetings and processes, and coordinating changes to the ticket application for ambulatory applications

Required Competencies:

• Ability to work well in team-based management approach with excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to assume responsibility and exercise authority over assigned work functions and while demonstrating excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Solid understanding of HIPAA, ambulatory EMR technologies, applications and integration capabilities with a working knowledge of clinical and financial workflow
• Seeks opportunities for learning and improvement
• Ability to articulate ideas to both a technical and a non-technical audience
• Ability to motivate in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in the field of healthcare, computer science, information technology
• 10 years of experience in EHR Ambulatory environment
• 10 years of experience supporting IT organizations in a customer facing support role
• 10 years of experience working in the healthcare industry
• 5 years of Management experience
• Knowledge of Interface and Interoperability standards
