Summary

This position is located in the Equal Employment Opportunity Office, U.S. Office of Personnel Management. The incumbent serves as a Lead EEO Specialist with expertise in all areas of equal employment opportunity and complaints adjudication.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures that the organizations strategic plans, missions, and values are communicated to the team and integrated into team strategies, goals, objectives, work plans and work products and services.
  • Articulates and communicated to team the assignment, project, problem to be solved, actionable events, milestone or program issues under review, and deadlines
  • Coaches the team in the selection and application of appropriate problem solving methods and techniques
  • Provides advice on work methods, practices and procedures, and assists the team and individual members in identifying the parameters of a viable solutions.
  • Trains or arranges for the training of team members in methods and techniques or team building and working in teams to accomplish task

Qualifications

To qualify for this position you must have a least one year of specialized experience to at least the GS-13 grade level (or equivalent) that demonstrating the following: investigating allegations of discrimination, civil rights violations, or privacy issues; negotiating settlements to ensure compliance with policies and procedures; conducting compliance reviews and monitoring compliance plans; developing strategies for outreach; and technical assistance related to civil rights or complaints examining.

Merit promotion applicants must meet time-in-grade requirement as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F.One year at the GS-13 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-14 level.

You must meet all qualification and eligibility requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
