Responsibilities

2 - Secret- This position has been designated non-critical sensitive and requires incumbent to obtain and maintain eligibility for a Secret clearance. Must meet and continue to adhere to the requirements of a Tier 3 level background investigation.

As a Regulatory Interpretation Specialist, you will:
  • Conduct projects or studies of major initiatives associated with BSA regulation and oversight of regulated industries to identify solutions to complex problems.
  • Provide expert advice or technical assistance to representatives of regulated industries or institutions, federal and state regulatory partners, or FinCEN staff on complex regulatory policy issues, BSA requirements, FinCEN regulatory policies, or Treasury policies.
  • Serve as an expert resource to advisory or working groups, planners, and other interested in the RP Office's activities for the purpose of developing new or innovative approaches to BSA regulatory policy or improving RP activities.
  • Participate as a senior member on ad hoc teams in the development, implementation and administration of the BSA and FinCEN's regulatory policies.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized experience: For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: Performing multi-faceted tasks associated with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).

Examples of such experience could include, but are not limited to:
- Identifying solutions to problems as related to the BSA; or
- Participating in developing legislative, regulatory proposals, or materials to issues related to BSA activity; or
- Providing guidance relating to anti-money laundering and/or the countering of the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT).

In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-13, you must have been at the GS-12 level for 52 weeks.
