Outside Sales & Service Specialist
Outside Sales and Service Specialists are responsible for prospecting and gaining new business with accounts, meeting sales growth budgets, managing expenses, providing superior customer service, and managing a territory of accounts that consist of conveyors, in-bay, self serves and fleet operations. Outside Sales and Service Specialists spend a great deal of their time prospecting and growing new account opportunities and consulting directly with customers. Their success depends not only on the ability to sell the company s products and programs but also on the ability to provide each customer with prompt, personal, and reliable service. RESPONSIBILITY: Retain and grow sales in current accounts and sell new accounts to consistently exceed sales budget and control expenses. Pro-actively identify and analyze important problems before the customer brings them up. Identify, prepare and present recommendations for products, processes and programs with a compelling business case; fully utilize sales tools, models and the Consulting Sales Person (CSP) program. Assist customers develop their business and improve their profitability. Identify and build rapport with key customer contacts and decision makers. Complete installations, repairs and/or maintenance of equipment on approximately 20 30% of all customer calls. Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and long-term sales and service plans for both the territory and each individual customer. Develop strategic plans for completing sales and service calls with new and existing customers; adjust plans to accommodate changing priorities and urgent requests. Develop strategies that increase new account penetration, bring new business on efficiently and create a long-term, fully committed customer base. Utilize corporate reporting and metrics to help guide your business and develop effective sales plans. Quantify and merchandise the dollarized value we deliver to the customer. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE A high school diploma or equivalent (GED), may include specialized or vocational courses with one to two years experience; Bachelor s degree preferred 4+ years Business to Business sales experience. Understanding of sales processes and ability to implement them in the field. Strong new account development skills. Strong customer service and account retention skills. Mechanical/technical sales or service experience. Exceptional interpersonal, phone and written communication, and presentations skills Strong follow-up and organizational skills Have strong basic computer skills including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
